Role Purpose:

The Technical Sales Support Manager provides technical support to the sales, specification and installation team and assists them with presentations, bids and tenders for existing and new clients from a technical perspective. He / she closely interacts with customers’ stakeholders across the whole value chain and influences them to specify Aliaxis products. Promotes the offering accordingly, and through deep expertise and advice succeeds in influencing the buying decision by shifting the focus away from cost.

Key responsibilities

  • Along with the Sales and Specifications team, establish the technical needs of the customer and suggesting appropriate products. Travel to a customer’s location to talk about our product range.

  • Design, prepare and drive a monthly calendar for customers’ visits, product training and technical presentations.

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Aliaxis products. Demonstrate the technical features and benefits of different solutions. Advise customers on technology upgrades and related solutions.

  • Explain complex technical information to customers (internal and external) in a way that is easily understandable.

  • Present or support the presentations of the product or system at technical conference. Attend product training courses and seminars

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities. Stay updated on industry developments and new technologies.

  • Advocate for improvements to product quality and performance that have impact across own specialism and is involved in innovation projects and overall design process improvements

  • Provide mentorship to Junior Engineers in the team to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers to their autonomy.

  • In certain cases, can lead small team of Junior Technical Sales Engineer

  • Updating records of customer communications and contact information.

Required Experience and Knowledge 

  •  Min 8 years of experience in technical sales

  •  Strong knowledge of MEP solutions and ideally system expert on at least one product line or solution

  •  Knowledge of engineering principles and ability to read technical drawings

  •  Understanding of architectural and civil drawings of modern buildings

  •  Knowledge of health & safety requirements and standards (country, customer and industry standards)

  • Good computer, communication and presentation skills
