Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to define, lead, and evolve our enterprise-wide data architecture strategy. As a member of the Enterprise Architecture team, this role closely partners with the Technology and Data organization to design modern, scalable, secure, and cloud-based data ecosystems that align with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a blend of strategic and technical thinking, solving the most complex enterprise data problems with enterprise grade data solutions. 

Key Responsibilities 

Define and drive enterprise data architecture strategy 

  • Establish target-state data platform architectures and standards aligned to business priorities. 
  • Translate business requirements into scalable data architecture solutions. 

Design and govern enterprise data ecosystems 

  • Architect data solutions and integration strategies across systems. 

  • Ensure consistent access, integration, and consumption of data across platforms. 

Lead data architecture governance and quality initiatives 

  • Define standards for data quality, metadata, master data, and lifecycle management. 

  • Establish data governance policies, compliance controls, and security practices. 

Drive platform and technology decisions 

  • Evaluate and recommend data platforms, tools, and emerging technologies. 

  • Define standards for data integration, pipelines, and data services. 

Collaborate across business, data, and technology teams 

  • Partner with stakeholders to align data architecture with enterprise objectives. 

  • Act as a bridge between data strategy and technical execution. 

Provide leadership and oversight 

  • Lead architecture reviews and ensure adherence to standards  

  • Support delivery teams through the product lifecycle. 

Basic Qualifications  

  •  Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience  

  •  Eight or more years of relevant experience 

Required Qualifications 

  • 15+ years of experience in data architecture, delivering large-scale enterprise data solutions within agile environments. 

  • Strong expertise in modern data architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses, data marts, and master data management. 

  • Deep understanding of data governance, privacy, and security standards 

  • Proven ability to design and implement scalable data platforms, frameworks, and architecture patterns. 

  • Hands-on experience with leading data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and enterprise data lakes. 

  • Strong experience in solution architecture for cloud-based data platforms. 

  • Experience in data integration, data processing, streaming, and messaging technologies. 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities. 

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders effectively. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in the banking, wealth management, or financial services domain. 

  • Exposure to multi-cloud environments, including AWS and Azure. 

  • Knowledge of machine learning pipelines and data enablement for AI solutions. 

  • Experience supporting AI-driven data product strategies. 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline. 

  • Relevant certifications in data management, cloud architecture, or engineering. 

Location Expectations 

  • This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $159,970.00 - $188,200.00
