40POSITION PURPOSE:
Assists Director with supervising and continually improving the processes, operations, and performance of the designated area(s) of responsibility. Responsible for designated area(s) performance ensuring organizational goals are met. Direction and leadership through orientation, goal setting, resources, workplans, policies, education, and employee performance are all included.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for appropriated staffing levels in designated area(s).
Assists in developing, implementing, and conducting ongoing Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Control (QC) programs for the department(s).
Assists in coordinating and assigning sufficient, appropriate personnel to maintain continuity and quality care.
Assists in identifying customer needs, recommending, and developing quality programs/services to meet those needs within the department(s) or in conjunction with other departments in support of the Medical Center’s mission and vision.
Coordinates with the Clinic Nurse Educator to develop and implement orientation, in-service training, and continuing education programs for all persons in the department(s).
Implements orientation, in-service training and continuing education programs for all persons in the department(s).
Reviews and makes recommendations regarding the qualifications and competence of department personnel who provide patient services. Includes assisting Educator with yearly specialty competencies and education.
Enforces policies and procedures to ensure departmental effectiveness; recommends revisions as needed.
Participates in the budgeting and other processes through research, monitoring, and implementation. Advises the Clinic Director or Manager of staffing, space, equipment and other department(s) needs.
Implements and maintains documentation as required by professional and organizational standards, including by not limited to, incidents, discipline/counseling, competencies, schedules, orientation, policies and procedures, proposals for equipment, supplies, capital expenditures, staff meetings, payroll, time and attendance.
In the absence of the Clinic Director, assumes the role of Clinic Director.
Performs other duties deemed necessary.
SPECIALIZED KNOW-HOW & REQUIREMENTS:
Associate degree in nursing or related healthcare field is required; bachelor’s degree in nursing or related healthcare field is preferred.
Current Illinois Registry in specialty required.
Minimum of five (5) experience working as a RN, clinic setting preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience required.
BLS Required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained throughout employment at CGH.
In-depth working knowledge of current concepts, principles and procedures used in patient care within an acute care setting preferred.

Compensation Range
