About the Role:

The Cybersecurity threat landscape is ever evolving, changing, and adapting. Our threat adversaries continue to find new ways to evade detection and compromise systems around the world. The Strategic Counter-Adversarial Research (SCAR) team’s mission is to research and develop novel technologies, procedures, and processes to counter such threat capabilities.

We are looking for a Researcher with expertise and domain knowledge in the field of cyber security. Someone with a mixture of foundational knowledge in information security science and technical development is highly preferred. In short, someone who is analytically and technically proficient and communicates well with others.

What You'll Do:

  • Work and collaborate with developers, analysts, researchers, and scientists to help develop novel security solutions to given technological problems and adversarial threats.

  • Enable front-line threat hunters and develop force multiplying solutions for their mission.

  • Be an energetic ‘self-starter’ with the ability to take ownership and be accountable for deliverables.

  • Develop and perform new analytical tasks across multiple systems and datasets.

  • Provide technical leadership (informal or formal) to others in your organization.

  • Liaise with teams across CrowdStrike to further our shared mission.

  • Continue to learn, develop your skills, and expand outside of your comfort zone.

  • Work as part of a distributed team of remote workers across time zones.

What You'll Need:

  • Creativity and strong analytical skills to assess/validate/investigate and think outside of the box

  • Experience with programming languages and data processing tools – demonstrate the ability to collect and process your own data

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Deep domain knowledge of adversary tactics and techniques, preferably across

    multiple OS platforms.

  • Experience in the development of novel approaches for the detection of sophisticated

  • threat actor activity.

  • Abilities and interest in analyzing/transforming data into useful information states

    and recognizing patterns.

  • Degree in Information Security/Computer Science/Computer Engineering (or

    commensurate experience).

  • Windows/Android/iOS/macOS/Linux security experience

  • Experience operationalizing machine learning algorithms

  • Prior experience in the intelligence fields
