The Opportunity

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will be responsible for establishing strong relationships with health care professionals and key opinion leaders to strategically implement medical outreach programs. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a natural affinity for communicating science-based information accurately and impactfully across multiple stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

  • Field based position responsible for a geographic territory, with a primary focus of establishing and maintaining relationships with Doctors, Specialist, Pharmacist and KOL’s

  • Create and implement a territory plan for a defined geographic territory that aligns with the medical business annual operating plan

  • Facilitation, co-ordination and management of educational meetings, round table meetings and trade displays as required

  • Collaborate with the QA & Commercial teams to prioritise activities aligned to the regional annual operating plan  

  • Utilise data insights and other reports that become available to ensure activities remain current and effective in building awareness and adoption of Canopy Growths medical and wellness portfolio 

  • Collaborate with the commercial marketing team in developing effective assets, programs and campaigns to support the medical outreach efforts 

  • Deliver scientific presentations 1:1 and in group settings to support the quality use of medicines

  • Gather and communicate clinical insights identified through interactions with KOLs and HCPs

  • Interpret and relay external feedback to senior management.

  • Provide monthly reports to track and evaluate the effectiveness of activities

  • Attend relevant scientific congresses within the region

  • Ensure all activities are compliant with the applicable regulations and Code of Conduct for the region

  • Maintain accurate reporting as required by the Medical Director

  • Maintain the highest level of knowledge of our products and competitors, and relevant therapeutic areas

  • Engage in continuous learning initiatives within the therapeutic area including up to date knowledge of the literature and therapeutic area, attending scientific meetings and meeting peer groups regularly

  • Utilise CRM (i.e. Salesforce) in a meaningful manner which provides insights to the regional leadership

  • Gather and communicate clinical insights identified through interactions with Scientific Experts and other Health Care Providers

  • Marketing ARTG included products to HCPs and Pharmacies.

  • Other duties as assigned

Experience

  • A relevant qualification such as MD, PhD, PharmD, PharmB or BSc desirable  

  • Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Strategic mindset and commercial acumen to connect research with a referral pathway, strategic objectives and global opportunities

  • Presence and ability to engage and influence doctors and senior leaders in industry

  • Strong knowledge of the Australian Medicines Code & Australian health care system

  • Critical analysis, data interpretation and conceptual skills

  • Proven ability to communicate scientific information effectively across a diverse audience from KOLs to internal staff

  • Experience in the therapeutic areas of pain, sleep and neurology are considered an advantage

  • Able to work in a team and independently with focus on open, clear and collaborative relationships, aligned on common goals

  • Desire to learn, ability to quickly absorb new information and understand its impact on the program, be it scientific, technical, or commercial

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Attention to detail

This is a full-time position based in Melbourne, Victoria. Must have a current driver’s license.
