Essential Job Statements
A Senior Fixed Assets Accountant is responsible for recording the cost of the Health System’s newly added fixed assets, tracking existing assets, calculating and recording asset depreciation, as well as accounting for disposed fixed assets for multiple Health System locations.
Responsible for the process of compiling financial statements, reviewing data and ensuring financial compliance as they relate to fixed assets.
This position is responsible for general ledger reviews as they relate to fixed assets, as well as ensuring that fixed asset project data is correct and complete in the Strata system.
The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for ensuring fixed asset projects remain within the approved budget.
The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for communicating and following up with project managers on the status of fixed asset projects, ensuring Construction in Progress is correct and placing fixed assets into service with the date the asset was first used.
The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for preparing audit schedules relating to fixed assets for auditors, ensuring they balance to the General Ledger and assisting auditors during the company annual audit or other audits as assigned.
The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for analyzing transactions and identifying the appropriate accounting treatment.
The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for ensuring that new fixed assets are tagged.
The Senior Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for supporting team members who need assistance with entering fixed asset requests into Strata.
A Senior Fixed Assets Accountant manages processes and projects related to the reporting of financial data, requiring both the delegation of work and the review of other employees’ work.
A Senior Fixed Assets Accountant provides onboarding, guidance, coaching and training to other employees.
Other special projects may be assigned as needed.

Employment Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience
Preferred Education: MBA, CPA, CIA or equivalent

Minimum Qualifications
Years and Type of Required Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of work experience in the accounting field. Proficient with various software applications to include: automated accounting systems, general ledger, spreadsheets, databases, word processing, etc.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to work with all levels of the organization and manage multiple projects at once.
Experience PREFERRED: Five (5) to eight (8) years progressively more responsible accounting experience in fixed assets accounting, general accounting or finance. Two (2) years of public accounting experience. Demonstrated ability to lead projects to completion.
Previous experience with areas within fixed assets accounting, audit, and internal controls.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): Senior Accountants are responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees. Additional position requirements:
