Applied Materials Korea is currently seeking a Trade Analyst located in Bundang office or/and Namsa office and this position is part of our Legal and Compliance Organization.

As a Trade Analyst, you will be a part of Applied Global Trade Operations team will be primarily responsible for ensuring all Applied Materials Korea sites comply with the applicable import and export regulations as well as applicable U.S. export regulations.  You will actively participate in the execution of import and export operations and the development of process improvements aimed to achieve operational excellence. 

The Trade Analyst works collaboratively with all lines of business, purchasing, logistics, service providers, suppliers, customs brokers, and government agencies to ensure compliance for the Company’s import and export transactions.

In this role, you will report to the Korea Trade Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Shipping (Export) Request review & approval

  • Release SAP GTS (Global Trade System) blocks for Korea and Japan

  • Provide HTS/ECCN information from database to requester

  • Conduct ECCN self-classification in Yes trade website

  • Filling and coordinating FTA Certificate of Origin request

  • Manage export license application and exemption process

  • Assist Internal Compliance Program for filing and administrative work

  • Work closely with Project Managers and logistics team for import and export compliance           

  • Perform internal self-assessments based on risk analysis to ensure trade compliance activities are executed properly

  • Execute processes, controls, record keeping and audit preparation regarding import and export declarations

  • Monitor compliance and performance of external service providers and participate in service review meetings and evaluate quality levels

  • Resolve import and export shipment issues working with internal and third parties such as freight forwarders, customs brokers and government agencies and possess the ability to determine when to escalate to management for resolution

  • Support in identifying process gaps/inefficiencies/improvements and solutions as aligned with management

  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • 3years ~ 7years of experience in Trade compliance and/or Logistics.

  • Proficient in computer skills (e.g.: Power Point, MS Excel etc.)

  • Flexible to changes (e.g.: Time and scope)

  • Keen attention to details and accurate in execution of any task.

  • Ability to work autonomously, with minimal direction, self-motivated and results driven.

  • Ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams and international environment.

  • Ability to communicate with professionals and people of all levels of the organization and to operate effectively within a team environment.

  • Preferred experience in highly regulated, high-tech or semiconductor industry.

  • Demonstrated customer focus with the ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

  • Working experience in SAP highly preferred

  • Communication in Korean/English
