Grand Valley State University seeks a skilled IT Workday Implementation Specialist to join our team for a one-year adjunct administrative professional position. This role is critical to our Workday Student implementation in progress, and optimization of Workday Platform, focusing on building seamless integrations and developing comprehensive reports that support related operations across the university.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to promote and facilitate collaboration, cooperation, and teamwork among diverse groups and individuals.
  • Design, build, and configure Workday Student integrations with existing university systems including SIS, LMS, financial aid platforms, and third-party applications
  • Develop and maintain Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) templates and integration workflows
  • Create and manage web services, APIs, and data transformation processes
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to establish secure, reliable data exchange protocols
  • Build custom reports using Workday Report Writer and advanced reporting tools
  • Develop operational dashboards for student services, enrollment management, and academic affairs
  • Create scheduled and on-demand reports for compliance, accreditation, and strategic planning purposes
  • Design student-facing reports and self-service analytics capabilities
  • Optimize report performance and ensure data accuracy across all deliverables
  • Participate in system testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing
  • Support data migration activities and validation processes
  • Contribute to system documentation and end-user training materials
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Workday Student
  • Demonstrated expertise in Workday integration tools including Studio, EIB, and Core Connectors, and Orchestrate
  • Proficiency in Workday Report Writer and calculated fields
  • Experience with XML, XSLT, web services, and API development
  • Strong understanding of higher education student information systems and business processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Experience with additional Workday modules (HCM, Financial Management)
  • Familiarity with higher education ERP systems (Banner, PeopleSoft, etc.)
  • Knowledge of FERPA, Title IV compliance, and student data privacy regulations
  • Previous work in higher education technology environments
  • Programming experience in Java, Python, or similar languages

Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.

Salary & Benefits: Minimum starting salary of $65,000 commensurate with experience. Limited benefits package including medical, life insurance, wellness resources and tuition waiver effective on date of hire.
