What You’ll Get to Do

Implements all logistic changes to support the Ship Control Systems in support of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Code 8600 and the Fly-By-Wire (FBW) program. 

  • Provides In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) support, life cycle management and logistics support, Fleet refit support and integration and test certification support.  Other responsibilities have included technical staff for NAVSEA OHIO Class Submarine Ship Control PARM Support.
  • Works with Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) to ensure proper implementation of logistic products. 
  • Reviews numerous VIRGINIA Class drawings and provisioning packages for accuracy. 
  • Travels to shipyards and contractor facilities to participate in testing and maintenance documentation development.  Develops Change Proposals for OHIO and SEAWOLF Class Ship Control.  Reviews Allowance Parts Lists (APLs) for accuracy.  Downloads and installs Navy promulgated computer programs i.e. Interactive Computer Aided Provisioning Support (ICAPS), New PMS Editor (NPE). 
  • Reviews Technical Manuals and Ship System Manuals, Responds to Technical Feedback Reports (TFBRs) via the PMS-MIS system.  Develops work files in Configuration Data Managers Database-Open Architecture (CDMD-OA). 
  • Ensures that all Configuration Management Records for OHIO Class Ship Control are current and accurate and provides recommended changes to Planning Yard.
  • Provide Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for VIRGINIA Class Submarines, specifically the FBW Ship Control System (SCS), and has become the Technical Support Activity (TSA) for the Government ISEA.
  • Review all Provisioning in ICAPS for the VIRGINIA Class SCS and works with the Navy Supply System (NAVSUP) in order to get equipment properly provisioned and implemented into the Supply System. Reviews all Maintenance Documentation for the VIRGINIA Class SCS.  We work with Submarine Maintenance and Engineering Planning (SUBMEPP) to get any new and revisions to existing Maintenance Procedures incorporated.
  • Responsible for verifying the technical accuracy and answering any TFBR issued by the fleet. Documentation includes Maintenance Index Page (MIP) and Maintenance Requirement Card (MRC). If revisions are necessary, produce the revisions and submits them via the Navy Planned Maintenance System Management Information System (PMS-MIS). Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) certified which is required to answer the TFBRs.
  • Review all Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) to determine impacts to ILS products and procedures.
  • Review and confirms all planning records are correctly identified in CDMD-OA.
  • Need the ability to obtain Secret clearance but not required for being hired. 

More About the Role

  • Candidate would be analyzing new and existing provisioning packages and release to NAVSUP for National Stock Number assignment in ICAPs.
  • Candidate would also evaluate proposed changes and provide recommendations.   
  • Candidate needs to have communication skills and the ability to prioritize tasks/projects in order to meet deadlines and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously. 

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • U.S. Navy Enlisted Background.
  • Knowledge of real-time operating environments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Access.
  • Familiarity with Navy supply and maintenance relationships, organization, and management databases is highly desired; possess strong verbal skills to convey analysis results and recommendations.
  • Excellent communicator and teamwork skills.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

  • Submarine sailor with Ship Control System (SCS) background would be ideal.

$64,400 - $135,100
