Job Title: Escrow Officer

Job Summary:
The Escrow Officer serves as a neutral third party in real estate transactions, ensuring all contractual conditions are met before the transfer of property and funds. This role involves managing escrow accounts, preparing closing documents, and coordinating with buyers, sellers, agents, and lenders to facilitate smooth and legally compliant closings. The Escrow Officer may also serve as the on-site manager, overseeing daily operations and supporting team performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain highest levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external customers
- Open and manage closing files for real estate transactions
- Review and interpret sales agreements and contracts
- Prepare and verify escrow instructions and closing documents
- Coordinate with internal clients to schedule and facilitate real estate closings
- Coordinate ordering of title reports and policies with home office title department and underwriters
- Disburse funds and ensure accurate financial transactions
- Maintain detailed records of all escrow activities
- Communicate regularly with all parties involved to provide updates and resolve issues
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Resolve disputes or discrepancies during the escrow process
- Act as on-site manager, overseeing office operations, mentoring staff, and ensuring service standards are met
- Work closely with home office support staff for accounting, finance, and human resources support
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Escrow Officer or in a similar role
- Ability to obtain (or already have) Texas certification for managing an escrow office
- Strong understanding of escrow procedures, title insurance, and real estate contracts
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in escrow software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Current Texas Escrow Licensure
- Familiarity with HOA documentation and property tax processes.
- Basic math and accounting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Leadership or supervisory experience in a title or escrow office
