Position Summary:

A senior functional lead combines business acumen with technical expertise to optimize SAP systems and drive organizational success by using industry standards and ERP best practices to re-engineer business processes for improved efficiency.  The role is responsible for preparing solution proposals and leading the execution of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to deliver new capabilities to the target platform(s).  Success in this role requires excellence in communication, expert knowledge in SAP functional modules including Order-To-Cash (OTC), and close coordination with business subject matter experts, business liaisons/partners, PMO, process owners, delivery teams, and run/sustainability teams.  The role also requires superior planning ability to schedule the execution of work across dependent resources with competing priorities. The distinguished candidate will demonstrate a strong sense of accountability, and ambition for performance excellence in delivering uncompromised quality while fostering an Agile delivery process that brings more value, more often.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Detailed Description)

  • Perform activities following Stryker’s Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) framework and processes.
  • Lead design, build/configure, test, deploy planning, and execution for SAP OTC solutions to support Stryker’s business needs for assigned enhancements and projects. 
  • Develop and review functional requirements that will inform system design and configuration.
  • Review and maintain application and technical specifications, test plans, and cutover plans for go-live sites.
  • Collaborate with Global Process Governance, IT business partners, build and run teams, IT vendors, infrastructure teams, and business deployment teams to understand business requirements and to drive alignment to solution designs, delivery plans, and timelines.
  • Support run/sustain teams to solve new business needs and govern solutions consistent with Stryker’s approved template.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the systems process flow, performance, and technical efficiencies.
  • Meet business needs by recommending and providing holistic solutions incorporating existing technical standards and processes.
  • Author and maintain system and technical documentation and process-related documentation that drive consistency in execution of best practices.
  • Lead and mentor Solution Analysts and IT vendor resources within the team and provide oversight and guidance.
  • Incorporate a financial focus to deliver on budget, leveraging time on value-driven activities, and ensuring external resources meet contractual deliverables.
  • Special projects as required.

Education & Special Trainings:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in the areas of Computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent field of study required.
  • Master's degree in MIS, MBA, or related disciplines preferred.
  • SAP Functional Consultant certification is preferred.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years performing SAP full life-cycle implementations, operation support, and demonstrated project implementation experience.
  • Experience with SAP project implementation experience in SAP IM. Demonstrated experience in related modules including WM and OTC is preferred.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • In-depth understanding of SAP S/4 HANA architecture and technologies.
  • Ability to configure or customize SAP S/4 HANA (e.g., new programs, tools, or reports, etc.) to meet business requirements.
  • Strong integration experience with SAP upstream and downstream processes (e.g., master data, logistics, supply chain, etc.) and non-SAP external systems.  Ability to consider upstream and downstream process and technology impacts.
  • Good understanding of RICEF and customizations in a complex environment.
  • Experience leading teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead global or geographically diverse system rollouts.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships across business and geographies. 
  • Ability to create and deliver training and support to users.
  • Exhibits acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.  
  • Versatility and willingness to work with constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Demonstrated competence with solution methodologies, preferably in both traditional Waterfall and Agile. 
  • International experience and/or exposure working in other business functions is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean, ITIL, PPM, PMO, etc. standards and processes is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior management.
  • Must be able to generate, explain, and accurately present detailed schedules, objectives, reports, and other documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cohesively across a cross-functional and matrixed organization.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to drive initiatives and projects independently from start to finish.
