21.60 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Fresno, CA

Working Hours/Shift:

Monday-Thursday 7AM-5PM

What you bring to SBHG:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required
  • Personal experience as a consumer in the child welfare, probation, or mental health systems.
  • Peer Support Specialist Certification: successful completion of the certification process within one year of employment
  • Valid California Driver's License

How you will make a difference:

  • Provides services to clients within the community and/or at assigned sites, providing identified practices into services.
  • Provides one-on-one support, mentoring, and role-modeling to clients and/or family members.
  • Helps clients navigate peer support, wellness services and navigation supports within the behavioral health system of care, other health systems, and community supports.
  • Links clients to various resources, including housing, food, education/vocation, recreation, spiritual, mentors, mental and physical health, and social, as deemed appropriate in partnership with the team.
  • Collaborates with Treatment Team members on the development of plans of care and safety plans
  • Provides direct services, including skill development, to individuals and peers.
  • Assists clients with communicating with other providers and agencies.
  • Advocates on behalf of clients and promotes self-advocacy.
  • Provides and documents services as determined necessary by the team and within the Peer scope of practice. Documents services related to specific domains from the client’s perspective.

Division/Program Overview:   

  • Outpatient community-based programs  

  • Serves clients (ages 0-18) 

  • Connect people with community resources, including vocational resources for young adults  

  • Group therapy and family Counseling  

  • Medication management and support services

In accordance with California law, the grade for this position is 18.88 - 28.32. Placement within the grade is determined based on experience, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.
