Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Build, develop and lead the Logistics team
Manage talent through effective recruitment and selection, performance coaching, training and development, performance reviews
Develop direct reports to continuously improve and take on additional responsibilities
Inspire the team and share best practices ensuring successes are leveraged
Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
Freight Management
Establish and maintain a genuinely collaborative, open, supportive and mutually beneficial working relationship with suppliers, and ensure negotiations are held with integrity and consideration of supplier needs, with a view to building long-term business partnerships.
Continually analyze all inbound and outbound freight costs and ensure an effective mix of freight solutions that achieve the balance between costs and customer service.
Deliver freight related value capture initiatives as part of the supply chain integration, including the competitive tendering of the domestic freight activities and the implementation of common processes and systems, eg. Global Transport Management System.
Warehouse Management
Manage the Korea third party logistics provider to ensure each warehouse operates within the agreed performance limits.
Application of Lean principles and Six Sigma methodology to reduce waste, improve cash flow.
Coordinate the receipt, warehousing, transport and distribution operation to ensure the efficient and cost effective distribution of products.
Ensure the security of inventory and assets
Analyse procedures and develop, recommend and implement improvements in inventory planning, supply and warehouse practices to optimise handling, storage, and transport and promote greater efficiency.
Deliver warehouse related value capture initiatives, including the reduction/consolidation of the Korea distribution centre footprint and the implementation of enhanced functionality of our systems i.e. WMS
Developing and executing the Supply Chain Strategy
Contribute to development and execution of supply chain strategies to anticipate and meet the needs of internal and external customers, while developing the function towards industry leading practice in the future.
Support the Korea implementation of global and regional strategic projects for example One Best Way (OBW), Medtronic Performance System (MPS)

Required Knowledge and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience.
Solid English communication skills
Preferably 6+ years’ experience working in the area Logistics Management including a demonstrated understanding of end-to-end supply chain concepts with 3-6 years of project and people management experience
Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to communicate effectively at different levels of hierarchy.
Strong financial acumen, especially in DC operations and Transportation
Experience working in the medical device industry is a plus
Experience in evaluating Logistic issues and developing recommended solutions.
Proven ability to structure and conduct advanced Logistics analyses in the areas of distribution and network optimization.
Project Management, priority management and planning skills
Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results and to build cross-functional teams
Strong business/financial analysis and planning with a proven record of profit performance
Previous experience with risk assessment
Experience and proven ability in a health related purchasing and importing of goods.
Negotiation experience
Understanding Lean / Six Sigma principles
Other Comments:
Some out of hours work will be required
Some interstate travel will be required (regularly / occasionally)
Some international travel will be required (regularly / occasionally)
