About the Role
As the Sr Director of our National Professional Relations team, you will drive strategic initiatives that elevate congress execution, peer-to-peer programming, and thought leader partnerships, ensuring Tarsus maintains a strong industry presence and stays in front of industry trends. You will shape our Peer to Peer, Congress and Customer engagement strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize customer experience, refine performance metrics, and identify additional opportunities for Tarsus to provide value.
Let’s talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:
Sr Director of National Professional Relations
- Lead the development of functional goals, objectives, and associated performance metrics to optimize the impact of the professional relations team and drive industry leading congress execution, peer to peer programming and thought leader partnership and participation.
- Drive yearly Congress strategy defining proactive processes and pulling through cross organization communications to ensure clear Congress objectives, engagement plans and on-site execution
- Evolve Peer to Peer strategy / core initiatives to continuously deliver against both the customer and business need.
- Work with broader commercial organization on corporate customer engagement opportunities, new thought leader identification, and overall customer experience strategy
- Define Professional relations in field engagement plans and corresponding KPIs providing monthly updates to commercial leadership
- Develop listening and advisory engagement plan in coordination with Medical Affairs to ensure Tarsus receives regular feedback and recommendations from the eye care community
- Work with broader commercial organization to regularly evaluate corporate customer engagement opportunities, new thought leader identification, and overall customer experience strategy looking to elevate where possible
- Actively manage functional budget with regular analysis and optimization
- Maintain industry awareness regarding market trends, competition, product acceptance and new product launches and indications
Factors for Success:
- Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years relevant work experience, or master’s degree (MBA or advanced science/medical degree) with commensurate years of experience in healthcare/pharma, ophthalmic is a plus.
- Demonstrated strategic leadership, experience translating a corporate vision and strategy into departmental goals and objectives; adjusting plans and tactics to meet changing departmental priorities and circumstances; utilizing data
- Strategic Agility and Industry Insight: Demonstrates the ability to proactively identify trends, shifts, and emerging opportunities in the eye care setting, using these insights to shape adaptable, high-impact strategies that differentiate Tarsus and keep the Tarsus Professional Relations team at the forefront of their function
- Cross-Functional Collaboration, Influence & Accountability: Effectively engages and aligns with cross-functional partners, including Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Marketing, to drive cohesive congress and customer engagement strategies, fostering strong internal and external networks that support organizational goals.
- Outcome-Driven Leadership: Delivers measurable results through the establishment of clear goals and KPIs, optimizing the professional relations team’s performance and ensuring excellence in peer-to-peer programming, thought leader partnerships, and congress execution in alignment with Tarsus’s high growth objectives.
- Coaching and Development: Prioritize the growth of each team member, focusing on both their strengths and areas for improvement. Provide regular, constructive feedback to elevate individual performance and the collective value of the team

- The position will be based in our beautiful Irvine office, complete with a courtyard, snacks, drinks, and occasional catered meals. We provide a hybrid work environment. May assess the option to work remotely if outside of the geographical area.

At Tarsus, we understand the importance of attracting and retaining top talent. The expected base pay range for this position is $247,500 - $346,500 plus bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits. The base pay range reflects the target range for this position, but individual pay will be determined by additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
