Job Summary:
The Materials Requirement Manager makes sure the manufacturing team always has the right materials at the right time according with production plan defined. This includes keeping inventory at the right levels, organizing the stockroom, leading the materials team, and making sure inventory systems work correctly.
Responsibilities:
- Keep the stockroom organized and maintained according to product requirements.
- Make sure inventory levels are not too high or too low.
- Review inventory reports and recommend adjustments.
- Track materials to ensure they are available when needed for production.
- Supervise and support the materials management team.
- Handle training, scheduling, and performance feedback.
- Promote good teamwork, communication, and safe work practices.
- Help maintain and support inventory management software.
- Work with other teams (Production, Procurement, Supply Chain, etc.) to solve material issues.
- Follow and improve processes to keep materials flowing smoothly.
- Responsible for ensuring material procurement, the right materials are available at the right time and in the right quantities (Direct and Indirect Material)
- MRM is responsible for overseeing both direct and indirect material inventories, which directly impact production timelines, cost efficiency, and the overall performance of the manufacturing process.
- Leader of Logistics Planning Analysts, directing both direct and indirect material planning analyst to ensure that all components are accounted for and properly allocated
- Leader of Traffic team, to assure the correct import process for indirect and direct materials
- MRM is managing subcontractor budgets, which ensures that external partners are delivering materials within the approved financial constraints, this activity includes managing packaging materials account, premium freight budget, and overseeing the supplier shipping performance
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- English level advanced-intermediate.
- Demand driven (DDMRP) certification desire.
Skills & Competencies:
- Planning: Making long-term decisions that align with the company's goals, such as selecting reliable suppliers and optimizing inventory management. Balancing cost, quality, and delivery time to ensure the best outcomes for the organization.
- Problem Solving: Identifying potential issues in the supply chain, such as delays or shortages, and developing strategies to mitigate these risks. Quickly addressing unexpected problems, such as quality issues with materials, by finding effective solutions
- Inventory Management: knowledge of inventory management strategies Set a clear inventory design/ strategy, to avoid both overstocking and shortages. Ensure that materials required for production are available at the right time and in the correct quantities
- Supply Chain Management: Working closely with other departments, such as production, purchasing, and logistics, to ensure decisions are well-informed and support overall business objectives. Communicating decisions clearly to stakeholders and ensuring everyone is aligned with the chosen strategy.
Additional information:
- This position will be in Cienega de Flores, Nuevo Leon
- This position is five-days a week subject to changes and willingness to work sporadically on weekends.
- Requires working weekends, based on business continuity needs.
