Position Overview

Are you a seasoned software developer who is passionate about building and scaling cloud services for world-class design and construction solutions? Do you have the skills and experience to design and implement reliable and trusted SaaS products that can handle large user base and complex data flow? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

The Docs team in Autodesk AEC Construction R&D is seeking a talented and highly motivated principal developer to join its development team and work on cloud services and products for its global customers. You will be part of a dynamic software development team, collaborating with global teams to deliver high quality cloud services that help customers transform to a cloud-powered Autodesk experience. You will report to a Senior Engineering Manager and work hybrid from Vancouver.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the architecture evolvement and platform development for Docs cloud services, working with various industry software experts and stakeholders

  • Be hands-on in the implementation and operation of cloud services, using web-based technologies and best practices

  • Solve challenging technical problems and provide innovative solutions for SaaS products that integrate with Autodesk's well-known tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, etc.

  • Mentor and coach other developers and share your knowledge and expertise

MInimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software development experience, preferably in SaaS or cloud-based products

  • Strong design and coding skills, with emphasis on quality, performance, and maintainability

  • Proficiency in web-based technologies, such as Java, Node.js, React, GraphQL, etc.

  • Has solid understanding of the product development lifecyle.

  • Experience in designing and developing scalable, reliable, and secure cloud services using AWS, or other cloud platforms

  • Experience in DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud operations

  • Experience in integrating with third-party APIs and services

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with ability to debug complex issues

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively in a global and diverse team

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada-BC based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $131,500 and $180,840. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
