Job Description

Brookfield Private Equity is seeking a Vice President / Senior Vice President to join its Asia Pacific investments team, based in Tokyo. The role is a pivotal position within the Japan Private Equity business and will support the continued growth of Brookfield’s platform in the Japanese market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Originate, evaluate, and execute private equity investment opportunities across Japan

  • Develop and implement investment and business development strategies aligned with APAC Private Equity objectives

  • Build and manage a robust investment pipeline through deep industry and advisory networks

  • Lead transactions end-to-end, from origination through execution and closing

  • Develop investment theses, value creation strategies, and transaction structures

  • Oversee financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis

  • Lead and coordinate comprehensive due diligence processes with internal teams and external advisors

  • Manage transaction execution, including negotiations, documentation, structuring, and financing

  • Prepare and present investment committee materials, bid submissions, and internal approvals

  • Support portfolio company oversight and represent Brookfield on boards as required

  • Contribute to special projects and APAC Private Equity business planning initiatives

  • Work collaboratively with Brookfield’s Japan teams and global platforms to strengthen market presence and brand

  • Support fundraising initiatives in coordination with the Private Funds Group

  • Mentor and develop junior investment professionals and foster a collaborative team culture

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 10–15 years of private equity experience, with strong execution experience in Japan

  • Proven track record of sourcing and completing complex private equity transactions

  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis skills (CA or CFA preferred)

  • Established network across Japanese business, legal, and advisory communities

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities

  • Fluency in English and Japanese; additional Asian language skills advantageous

  • Willingness to spend an initial 6–12 months in Hong Kong for onboarding and integration (preferred)
