Purpose of the Role
This role reports directly to the VP, Global Creative Director, who is responsible for driving DCP’s breakthrough creative vision, including the development of high‑heat activations, global creative campaigns, and culturally relevant ideas that inspire consumers, drive demand, and elevate brand impact across the Disney ecosystem.
The Director, Creative is a senior creative leader responsible for defining and delivering a holistic creative vision across graphic design, brand systems, and marketing ideation in support of Disney Consumer Products’ global strategy. The role centers on conceptual thinking and creative leadership translating brand, franchise, and business priorities into cohesive, scalable creative systems that extend across campaigns, retail, products, and consumer experiences.
Partnering closely with Global Creative leadership, Marketing, Franchise, Product, and Commercial teams, this leader ensures creative work is visually exceptional, strategically aligned, culturally resonant, and commercially informed. While not directly responsible for commercialization or dealmaking, the Director brings strong sophistication around commercial realities, partnerships, timelines, and execution models, enabling creative to integrate seamlessly into the broader business ecosystem.
This role requires a leader deeply immersed in culture, actively engaged in the marketplace, and able to move quickly and decisively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Leadership & Vision
Lead the development of a unified creative vision spanning graphic design, brand systems, and marketing creative, ensuring cohesion across all touchpoints.
Translate high‑level brand, franchise, and campaign strategies into innovative, scalable creative systems that elevate global consumer product initiatives, retail environments, and high‑heat activations.
Drive conceptual ideation for marketing and franchise initiatives, shaping big ideas and creative narratives not just executing assets.
Set and uphold the highest creative standards across visual storytelling, design craft, and creative expression.
Ensure all creative outputs strengthen brand equity, emotional connection, and long‑term franchise value.
Cultural Fluency & Trend Leadership
Remain deeply immersed in culture, trends, and the creative marketplace, with an active presence across entertainment, fashion, lifestyle, gaming, street culture, and emerging creative movements.
Apply a sharp understanding of cultural signals and consumer behavior to inform creative direction and ideation.
Bring a point of view that keeps Disney’s creative work relevant, aspirational, and culturally credible on a global stage.
Creative Integration with Product & Consumer Touchpoints
Provide creative direction across product design and consumer touchpoints, ensuring franchise storytelling is expressed consistently and meaningfully.
Shape the creative approach for initiatives adjacent to product, focusing on narrative, visual systems, and brand expression.
Oversee integration across product experiences, graphic systems, and marketing creative to deliver a seamless consumer journey.
Marketing Creative & Ideation
Partner closely with Marketing teams to develop creative concepts, narratives, and visual worlds for campaigns, launches, and cultural moments.
Contribute meaningfully to upfront ideation, helping define campaign ideas, creative platforms, and storytelling approaches.
Ensure marketing creative is emotionally compelling, culturally relevant, and aligned with brand and commercial goals.
Speed, Agility & Operational Nimbleness
Operate with speed, flexibility, and decisiveness in a high‑volume environment with significant inbound requests and tight timelines.
Quickly assess priorities, make strong creative calls, and mobilize teams to deliver high‑quality work under pressure.
Balance fast execution with creative excellence and strategic intent.
Strategic Partnership & Commercial Sophistication
Collaborate with Franchise, Commercial, Retail, and Product partners to ensure creative solutions support broader business objectives.
Demonstrate fluency in commercial models, partner dynamics, timelines, and constraints.
Present creative recommendations with clarity and strategic rationale, influencing senior stakeholders.
Presentation, Pitching & Representation
Confidently pitch, present, and sell creative ideas to senior stakeholders, partners, and cross‑functional teams.
Develop clear, compelling presentation materials, including decks that articulate creative vision, strategy, and rationale.
Act as a trusted representative of Global Creative leadership, accurately and effectively communicating creative vision in meetings where senior leadership may not be present.
Global Collaboration & Market Alignment
Partner with global and regional teams to ensure creative systems maintain global consistency while allowing for local cultural nuance.
Develop scalable creative toolkits that empower regional execution without compromising creative integrity.
Stay informed on global cultural trends and market insights to ensure relevance across audiences.

Qualifications & Experience
Required
10+ years of progressive experience in senior creative leadership roles, with a strong foundation in graphic design, brand systems, and marketing creative.
Proven ability to lead ideation, concept development, and creative strategy—not just execution.
Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in branding, visual systems, and marketing creative.
Deep cultural fluency and active engagement with trends and creative communities.
Experience collaborating cross‑functionally with Marketing, Franchise, Product, and Commercial teams.
Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to pitch and represent creative vision at a senior level.
Preferred
Experience contributing creative direction to product‑adjacent or consumer product initiatives.
Familiarity with product design processes, manufacturing considerations, or product development partnerships.
Experience working in global or multi‑market organizations.
Familiarity with Disney franchises or character‑driven storytelling.
Understanding of licensing, commercialization models, and partner ecosystems.
Exposure to emerging creative technologies and AI‑enabled workflows.
