In this Product Curation Specialist role, you will work with external partners, our suppliers, and internal stakeholder teams to to select and evaluate products that meet the design style and quality requirements of Wayfair Specialty Retail Brand & Flagship Brand in order to launch products both online and offline for Wayfair customers.. You will be expected to define what is the effective collaboration approach,  problem-solve, articulate and execute against tactical plans, and manage key curation metrics.

 

What You'll Do: 

  • As the key conduit between the Merchants and the Suppliers, this role is responsible for ensuring that the strategic direction manifests as intended.
  • Working alongside our core functional teams and in very close collaboration with the Curation Brands & Stores Enablement team, Specialty Retail Brands team, understand the brand positioning, strategic direction, product requirements, and quality standards of WF's Specialty Retail Brands & Flagship Brands
  • Collaborate with Wayfair supplier account management teams to identify suppliers and products that meet WF's requirements.
  • Create processes or provide feedback on processes to most efficiently execute this work across both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrate effective communication with suppliers at the product development level, clearly and accurately explaining WF's requirements, and providing guidance and responses to key points and issues throughout the product development stages.
  • Attend trade shows, showrooms, factories, and/or other travel to meet key suppliers,as well as travel to the US (might be other global markets). 
  • Proactively update the progress of each on-going project, ensuring all parties are on the same page, and promptly identifying obstacles or risks. Take the initiative to resolve them or seek assistance when needed.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of Wayfair's culture and integrate it into daily work performance.

What You'll Need:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science & Engineering or a related field
  • Possess knowledge and discernment in product design, material quality and pricing, production processes, and quality standards.
  • 3+ years experience in either supply-side product development / engineering or the 3rd party product inspection agency is required. Experience in the field of foreign trade exports is preferred.
  • Good level of English, reading/writing/verbal English fluency is required 
  • Good Excel and PowerPoint expertise; readiness to work with data using Excel, SQL, Tableau and other tools
  • Articulate and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A track record of successful relationship management skills
  • Innovative problem-solving skills; a demonstrated ability to dissect and determine root causes of problems and implement solutions
  • A structured, proactive  approach to your work, eager to progress professionally and motivated to drive project progress
  • Proven ability to thrive as part of a team and also to work autonomously
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
