KBR has an entry level position for a software developer to serve on a Simulation Engineering team at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Johnson Space Center (JSC). The position supports the development and maintenance of the Training Systems software systems and the Exploration Program supporting the real-time INFRA framework within the facility.
Responsibilities:
• Candidate must have strong problem-solving experience using computer programming and experience in C++ software development.
• Linux or UNIX skills are required.
• Candidate must be able to perform simple and complex software builds and integrate software with other developers.
• Must possess good oral and written communication skills and ability to work effectively and coordinate actions with both internal and external customers.
Work & Experience Requirements:
B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree.
Software development experience using C++ with UNIX or Linux skills are required. The ideal candidate must be able to develop and maintain the real-time INFRA framework including the scheduling, messaging, and synchronization software systems. This position will provide software development and maintenance for the real-time Trick simulation in support of the International Space Station and the Exploration Programs. Knowledge and experience in Python, Linux Kernel programming, client-server architecture, and Agile software development methods are a plus. Candidates with Trick experience will have a significant advantage. Applicants must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Strong initiative, teamwork and problem-solving skills are required.
