Job Description
Ultra Precision Control Systems are looking for an Operation Technician to test, fault find and repair a range of products to meet customer commitments in terms of quality and timescales.
Ensure forecasted weekly, production, and service commitments are met to the highest levels of quality control and to ensure that all products are repaired, tested, and shipped according to company procedure.
Key Responsibilities:
- To be able to follow departmental, quality and Health & Safety procedures.
- Carry out incoming test, inspection, and strip survey processes across a wide variety of electronic products.
- Responsible for testing and fault-finding service/production units to board level using Test Specifications and diagrams.
- Carry out Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and Vibration tests across products.
- Repair and assemble products and be able to carry out soldering to IPC 600 J standard 001.
- Program PCBs and devices using Programming Loading Documents.
- Perform inspection on all activities as and when required.
- Produce meaningful investigation reports and Statement of work.
- Ensure that all documentation is completed accurately and kept up to date.
- Assist with training and mentoring.
- Follow European Aviation Safety Agency Form One (EASA Form 1) procedures.
- Provide technical assistance to internal customers.
- To ensure repair products and turnaround time is achieved to meet our customer expectations.
- Providing regular updates to Supervisor.
- Demonstrate a level of innovation and recommendations within the cell to assist continuous improvements.
- Ordering and checking/rejecting of components.
- Maintain a high-quality standard that our customer expects.
- Matrix working and undertake work in accordance with your skill set.
- Planning and organising daily tasks.
Essential
- Previous proven experience in an electronic manufacturing environment working across a range of products.
- Able to read and understand technical drawings.
- Ability to work on own and within a team.
- Proactive approach to problem solving.
- Able to give guidance and instruction when appropriate to team members.
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Able to follow instructions and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Demonstrates good attention to detail producing consistently high-quality work.
- High level of initiative.
- Good level of computer literacy.
- Can do attitude.
- Experience in managing daily key activities to achieve timescales to a high-quality standard.
- Flexible around working hours to help meet value streams targets.
Desirable
- Proven Capability to recognise IPC standards.
- Previous experience working in the Aerospace industry.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.
- HNC or equivalent technical (electronics) discipline.
