Job Description Summary:
The Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor works in coordination with the HIM Operations Manager to administer the daily functions of the HIM Department. The HIM Supervisor is responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining the standard work and operating procedures of the Health Information Department of the hospital in accordance with state and federal guidelines, accreditation standards as well as hospital policies and procedures. This includes supervising multiple care sites and overseeing teams working onsite and remote. The HIM Supervisor monitors workflows and quality assurance of medical record documents in the document management system, oversees the birth certificate and paternity affidavit process, chart completion, release of information including oversight of outsourced staff. This position makes decisions concerning scheduling, process and workflow assessment, and productivity standard reporting.Minimum Qualifications:
