Role Overview

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full-cycle recruiting, university relations, and early careers sourcing, with a strong focus on Workday, candidate experience, and employer brand. This role supports business hiring needs by building diverse talent pipelines, coordinating recruiting activities, and helping shape internship and campus engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruiting processes from intake and sourcing through interviewing, offer negotiation, and hire onboarding coordination.
  • Partner with hiring managers and HR stakeholders to understand hiring needs, align on recruiting strategies, and deliver timely updates throughout the process.
  • Build and maintain relationships with universities, career centers, student organizations, and academic contacts to strengthen early careers and internship pipelines.
  • Support the development and execution of internship programs and campus recruiting initiatives that attract high-potential talent.
  • Promote Johnson Controls employer brand through recruiting events, university engagement, and targeted candidate outreach.
  • Use Workday and direct sourcing methods to identify, track, and manage candidates effectively.
  • Apply sourcing strategies that support quality hiring, diversity, and business growth in a competitive talent market.
  • Track recruiting activity, maintain accurate data, and contribute to process improvements that enhance speed, quality, and candidate experience.

How You Will Do It

  • Use Workday as your primary recruiting system and keep candidate records, requisitions, and process steps accurate and up to date.
  • Stay close to hiring managers and candidates to remove obstacles, clarify priorities, and keep the hiring process moving smoothly.
  • Build trusted relationships with universities and campus partners by showing up consistently and representing the Johnson Controls brand professionally.
  • Approach each search with accountability, integrity, and attention to detail, especially when managing multiple requisitions at once.
  • Use data, feedback, and market insight to improve sourcing tactics, strengthen pipelines, and continuously refine the recruiting process.
  • Work collaboratively with HR and business partners, sharing information openly and contributing to solutions as one team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate or agency recruiting, including sourcing and full-life-cycle hiring.
  • Experience working with Workday as an ATS.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, direct sourcing tools, and Boolean search language.
  • Experience building relationships with universities, career services, or student organizations.
  • Experience supporting internship programs or early careers recruiting.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills in a multicultural environment.
  • Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and follow-up skills.

Nice to Have
