Business Strategy Integration (BSi) maximizes Process Development’s ability to deliver on the highest value opportunities by bridging the business of Amgen and the science of PD through cross-functional alignment and integrated business insights. We do this through 5 strategic pillars: Data Insights & Digital Systems, Productivity & Continuous Improvement, Financials, Strategic Decision Support, and Operational Strategy.
We are seeking a Business Performance Manager to join our team within the Productivity & Continuous Improvement Pillar. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting ongoing programs and initiatives to drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and productivity within the Process Development organization.
In this vital role, you will participate in the Process Development Excellence (PDE) strategy & execution in alignment with Year over Year Productivity deliverables and Continuous Improvement initiatives for the Process Development teams. You will work closely with Process Development functional teams focusing on the responsibilities outlined below.
Role Responsibilities:
Support the implementation of key Lean Six Sigma/CI programs across the PD organization
Train staff on Lean Six Sigma principles and tools and coach them on yellow belt projects
Coordinate and facilitate cross-functional events such as VSM, Kaizen events and Transformational workshops
Identify & implement improvement opportunities to improve efficiencies across organization
Oversee timely updates to PD Productivity project portfolio
Ensure metrics are in place to track the performance of the PDE Network, consolidate, and communicate results
Implement special awards programs to recognize staff Excellence and Innovation
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma / GED and 10 years of engineering, science, or business management in life sciences industry experience OR
Associate’s degree and 8 years of engineering, science, or business management in life sciences industry experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of engineering, science, or business management in life sciences industry experience OR
Master’s degree and 2 years of engineering, science, or business management in life sciences industry experience OR
Doctorate degree
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience in a continuous improvement role
Expert on Lean Six Sigma methodologies and in-depth knowledge of other Continuous Improvement methodologies along with practical experience
Proven project management skills and demonstrated ability to execute and manage complex projects and programs
Strong facilitation, analytical, creative thinking, and decision-making skills
Ability to influence without authority
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership
Proven ability to drive results and achieve continuous improvement
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders
Good knowledge of Word, Excel, Smartsheet, Miro, and ability to work easily with new software
Green Belt or Yellow Belt Certification (ie Lean, Six Sigma)

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
