Position Overview:

Love working outside? Love the water? Love boating?   

As part of the talented Freedom Boat Club Marine Operations Center team, the Marine Repair Technician will travel to dock locations to perform roadside maintenance on our fleet of vessels. We are looking for mechanically inclined individuals. This position is full-time and requires availability on weekdays.

Essential Functions:

  • Diagnose vessels and complete maintenance repairs and work orders
  • Maintain inventory of parts and cleanliness in service vehicles  
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Adhere to required safety policies
  • Performs other maintenance related duties as assigned  

Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must pass a background and drug screening
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • High school diploma
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have knowledge of 12v electrical, rigging, and outboard diagnostics
  • Know how to work safely in a shop environment
  • Know how to maneuver a boat and trailer
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be a self-starter and capable of working unsupervised
  • Ability to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity
  • Good attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified in Yamaha or Mercury
  • Fiberglass repair  
  • Boating experience in and around boats

Working Conditions:

  • Work outside in the state’s elements and stand for an extended period of time
  • Local travel required 
  • Work in a marina setting on docks that may be fixed or floating  
  • Work near and on the water 
  • Prolonged periods standing, crouching, bending, climbing, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling in order to perform job  
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
