Fulfillment Center Supervisor – First Shift (6:30 AM – 3:30 PM)

$24 - $26/hour

Wage to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data

Purpose

The Warehouse Supervisor is an expert in the assigned area of operations. The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the general operations of their assigned areas and its staff. They also lead and guide all efforts, projects, and goals in their assigned area, always putting the safety and well-being of the associate first.  The supervisor is responsible for setting high expectations for self and team to achieve successful results in both throughput and accuracy.  The supervisor will need to be (or become) the expert in their area of operations.

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties required to successfully complete the job.

Ensure that employees adhere to safety policies and practices in the workplace.

  • Lead and manage the assigned warehouse teams.
  • Department-wise subject matter expert and “go-to” person for questions or issues.
  • Guide and motivate the team in a positive way to meet or exceed operational goals.
  • Contribute to building an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort.
  • Enforce departmental standards and procedures.
  • Always maintain and ensure a positive work environment.
  • Update the fulfillment center manager on project(s) progress and any issues.
  • Reviews and approves associate’s times, vacations, and lunch breaks.

Minimum Job Requirements needed to perform the essential job duties described above.

  •  Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience minimum 3 – 5 years leadership experience
  • Previous warehouse experience or knowledge of Deseret Book products.
  • Basic computer keyboard and data entry skills, with working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Great Interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and write English.  Fluency in Spanish is a plus.    
  • Ability to complete all work assignments with accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand or be on your feet for long periods.
  • Train associates on equipment and systems operations and procedures
  • Flexible and willing to take and follow direction.
  • Regularly review associate performance and provide individual feedback
  • Guide and motivate the team in a positive way to meet or exceed operational goals.
  • Ensure assigned areas are clean and equipment well maintained
  • Partner with management to ensure compliance with standards and values.
