Director, Group Financial ControlWe are seeking a candidate with a strong background in financial and product control disciplines for the role of Financial and Product Control Specialist. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience, strong data analysis skills, and the ability to work independently. The candidate should be responsive, comfortable working within tight timelines, and able to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including the finance team, legal, engineers, and developers.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage monthly trading activities and month-end closing processes, including bank reconciliations, transfer pricing schedules, prepayments, and accruals.
Prepare regular reconciliations of trading positions and financial and regulatory reporting schedules, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS and US GAAP), tax, and other regulatory requirements.
Oversee the valuation and pricing of derivatives, private equity, options, and DeFi investments.
Ensure accurate and timely valuation of all financial instruments in accordance with industry standards and company policies.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and tax consultants.
Assist in the preparation of audited financial statements with disclosure footnotes.
Ensure internal controls over financial reporting are established and adhered to, and identify opportunities for improvements.
Monitor monthly cash flow movements and advise the Financial Controller of any need for intercompany funding or cash replenishment.
Assist the Finance Manager and Group Financial Controller with ad-hoc work and projects.
Handle various tax matters, including transfer pricing operational support, indirect tax compliance, and tax operational information reporting.
Qualifications:
At least 5 years of work experience in product control and tax, preferably in a regulated industry with exposure to regulatory reporting.
Strong understanding of corporate tax, tax accounting, indirect tax, international tax, transfer pricing, and customer information reporting.
Strong understanding of derivatives, private equity, options, and DeFi investments.
Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
Self-directed with the ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. ACCA/CPA designation is desirable.
Up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.
Strong interest in fintech, blockchain, digital businesses, and decentralization.
Experience with Workday preferred, strong proficiency in MS Office applications.
