About This Opportunity 

As a proactive and organized Manager, Strategic Initiatives capable of managing multiple workstreams effectively in the Academic Services Division, you will play a crucial role in driving strategic initiatives. You will support the Academic Registrar by planning, executing, and monitoring key projects, ensuring alignment with UQ's strategic goals.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Provide strategic advice and support to the Academic Registrar on key initiatives.

  • Conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making on complex matters.

  • Evaluate and disseminate advice on compliance, legislation, and policy matters.

  • Work with managers to identify and implement process improvements. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with University goals.

  • Assist in defining scope, objectives, and deliverables for internal projects.

  • Provide secretariat support to committees and working parties.

About You  

Essential

  • Relevant degree and significant experience in a related field.

  • Experience in implementing strategic initiatives and leading operational planning and change management.

  • Demonstrated ability to research, analyse, and synthesize information.

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate action, identify challenges, and formulate strategies.

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, consult, and liaise with diverse stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of higher education legislation, structure, and functions.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
