Job Summary

EHS Coordinator supports all aspects of the EHS regulatory compliance function for both IFMG plants.  The position supports development, implementation and administration of EHS compliance programs, regulatory analysis, compliance with permits/licenses, audits, industrial hygiene workplace sampling, and other aspects of EHS management.  


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Identify the “what” and “why” of the job leading to the end results.

  • Design/implement/administer a wide range of EHS compliance and training programs. 
  • Conduct accident investigations and assist supervisors with injuries.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents.
  • Coordinate testing of workplace air quality, noise, temperature, or radiation to verify compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct EHS audits/inspections of IFMG facilities and support corrective actions.
  • Coordinate/participate on all federal OSHA compliance inspections.
  • Coordinate/participate on environmental agency compliance inspections. 
  • Actively participate in IFMG Safety Committee.
  • Maintain all AEDs, fire systems/fire extinguishers, and eye wash stations.
  • Manage environmental monitoring – groundwater use, daily surrogate visible air emissions monitoring, etc.
  • Other related duties as assigned by management.

Skills and Attributes Requirements

Identify skills/attributes required for this position which may include leadership, problem solving, interpersonal, communications, planning, and team participation skills.  

Position requires excellent written and communications skills; attention to detail; ability to interact with other employees, outside vendors, regulatory agency representatives and legal counsel; the ability to work in and understand industrial production; and be able to work with databases, spreadsheets, presentations and documents.  Must be able manage multiple projects and prioritize to diligently meet regulatory deadlines.  Position requires the ability to conduct employee training effectively. 


Education/Experience Requirements

Educational requirements should be the minimum level acceptable for the position.  Experience should describe both type and amount of necessary qualifying experience.  Also, note any professional licenses required.

Minimum Education – 2 year college degree in EHS or related field OR alternatively a High School diploma with at least 4 years of on-the-job EHS compliance and regulatory interpretation experience coupled with relevant professional continuing educational training in the EHS field.  EHS certifications are beneficial but not required.

  • Exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations may require extensive safety precautions including use of protective equipment.
  • Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
  • Ability to lift and handle objects up to 50 lbs. 
  • Physical activities include sitting, talking, hearing, seeing, operating keyboard/mouse (constantly); walking, standing, (frequently) climbing, bending, stooping, lifting, pulling(occasionally)
