YOUR MISSION 

As the Senior Accountant at True Anomaly in our Long Beach facility, you will be a key contributor to the month end close process, preparation of Monthly Financial Statements, and be the lead representative of the accounting team within the Long Beach facility. This role will be the primary accounting owner for the Long Beach facility and support the corporate office with continuous process improvements and regular close procedures within NetSuite. They will be critical in scaling the accounting function, implementing internal controls, and supporting system integration. This role will require someone who wants to dig in, design the processes, and own entries and processes within the general ledger. We are looking for a reliable problem solver, someone who can demonstrate the ability to identify issues, develop scalable solutions, and operate with a high level of autonomy. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Support with implementing accounting policies and best practices
• Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance the close process, implementing new procedures to improve efficiency and reduce the close cycle time
• Implement and ensure cost accounting processes and controls at the Long Beach facility
• Ensure proper accounting for fixed assets at within the Long Beach facility
• Support the preparation of Financial Statements
• Act as a key stakeholder in shaping the Long Beach facility accounting team by refining processes and preparing for growth
• Support accounting in accordance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) for CAS-covered contracts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance accounting processes and systems
• Support the annual audit
• Serve as a liaison between the accounting team and other departments to provide guidance and insights on financial matters
• Other tasks as assigned 

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, 3+ years of experience
• CPA a plus
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with government contract accounting, FAR accounting standards, and DCAA compliance is a plus
• Previous Aerospace and Defense experience a plus
• Analytical and with exceptional problem-solving skills, high degree of ownership, and a strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and presentation abilities, capable of conveying complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Prior NetSuite experience preferred

 

OTHER 

• Work Location— This position will be onsite at our Long Beach facility, located in Long Beach, CA with the potential for limited hybrid opportunities in the future. 

 

COMPENSATION  

• Base Salary: $95,000-$125,000
