As a Category Supplier Manager, you will be responsible for developing a category strategy for managed categories, validating strategies with Global and Regional Category Managers/s and the respective internal partners and team members. You will be conducting strategic sourcing initiatives, plan and execute negotiations using supplier and industry analysis, benchmark and cost management. Through management of the category strategy, you will also be building trusted partnerships with internal team members, driving best-in-class, cost, supply and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Category Management & Strategic Sourcing

  • Recommend resource levels across procurement sourcing categories, projects, and functions to ensure flawless execution of our strategies.
  • Develop procedures to assess the satisfaction of those affected by our organization's performance, ensuring that we foster solid collaborations and achieve outstanding outcomes.
  • Suggest targets to enhance value, such as increasing revenue, reducing expenses, streamlining procurement processes, ensuring exceptional customer service, and effectively managing suppliers, positioning us as industry front-runners.
  • Analyze sourcing trends and make data-driven recommendations for assigned categories, ensuring that we stay ahead of the competition.
  • Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal-setting to determine the most effective approach for each category.
  • Develop category strategies for managed categories and validate them with Global and Regional Category Managers and internal partners, ensuring alignment and successful implementation.

Cost Management & Analysis

  • Identify and assess category-specific methods to save and generate revenue, enabling us to improve cost efficiency and enhance profitability.
  • Drive category savings/revenue and scorecard metric targets, demonstrating our commitment to delivering exceptional results.
  • Deliver market insights and information on category price trends to internal teams, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Use cost estimation models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace, allowing us to maintain competitiveness.

Negotiation

  • Lead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, and transfers, ensuring that we secure the best possible terms.
  • Lead sourcing events/RFQ process into bundled negotiation, allowing us to streamline our procurement process and achieve cost efficiencies.
  • Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations, ensuring that we meet our financial objectives.
  • Develop a contract strategy for suppliers in assigned categories and create, negotiate, monitor, and enforce contracted terms and conditions, mitigating risks and ensuring compliance.
  • Conduct strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiations, and cost management using supplier and industry analysis, positioning us as industry leaders.

Business Partnering

  • Collaborate with Team members to Deliver Strategic Solutions
  • Build and enhance knowledge in the designated spend categories by fostering connections with relevant individuals, thereby improving our ability to cater to their requirements.
  • Drive a customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement, ensuring that we provide exceptional service.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships to enhance cost-effectiveness, supply chain efficiency, and resilience, positioning us as a trusted partner.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Procurement / Supply Chain, demonstrating your proven track record in the field.
  • A relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, showcasing your educational background and expertise.
  • Proven experience in category management and strategic sourcing, highlighting your ability to develop and implement successful strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills, enabling you to achieve positive results.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively manage relationships with various individuals involved, allowing you to collaborate and succeed.
