Job Title: Clinical Services Manager – United Kingdom

Position Overview:
The Clinical Services Manager (CSM) will work in conjunction with the local Insulet account, Customer Care (CC) and Market Access teams to meet the clinical and commercial needs of the territory, increasing appropriate referrals and sustaining patients on Insulet products.
The role will interact with a variety of health care professionals (HCP’s) including endocrinologists, diabetes specialist nurses (DSN’s), pump specialists, and diabetes multi-disciplinary teams’ members.
The CSM will motivate, educate, train, support, and challenge customers to ensure appropriate people receive Omnipod therapy at the optimal time.
It is expected that the CSM will use their own clinical experience together with clinical evidence in clinical discussions to influence best practice uptake in relation to Omnipod therapy.
The role will involve initiating people onto Omnipod when required in conjunction with the relevant HCP.
Responsibilities:
- Promotes the benefits of insulin pump therapy and the Omnipod Insulin Management System to providers and patients in group and/or individual sessions or as a continuing education offering.
- Establishes and levers peer to peer relationships with HCPs (endocrinologists, diabetes specialist nurses (DSN’s), pump specialists, and diabetes multi-disciplinary teams’ members) to position Omnipod therapy appropriately to ensure people receive Omnipod in a timely fashion. Uses clinical evidence and personal clinical experience to support these discussions
- Works with key decision makers and stakeholders in improving service provision, relevant guidelines, and patient flows to ensure better care and use of NHS and Insulet resources.
- Manages patient trainings with clinics and conducts the training based on business needs of territory and the timeliness of training.
- Communicates the patient pathway on eligibility for Omnipod within own territory.
- Assists with providing regular product demos to patients and HCPs.
- Works alongside field sales, Inside Sales, Customer Care and Market Access teams in an account management approach to achieve Omnipod initiation and retention goals.
- Provides insights on customers, feeding back useful information and data to relevant internal Insulet teams
- Maintains own HCP and customer training records in Salesforce and updates account plans as required in a timely accurate manner
- Assists with group events such as pump clinics, pump support groups, info sessions, in-the-office educational events, patient info nights, vendor days, etc.
- Assists with product training for Sales and Clinical hires.
- Maintains own diabetes clinical and NHS knowledge in line with latest developments and evidence
- Performs administrative duties in a timely basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience training and/or managing pump patients.
- Professional up to date credentials and/or certifications are mandatory: i.e. Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), Registered Dietitian (RD), or Registered Nurse (RN)
- Licensure is mandatory as required
- Ability to demonstrate commercial acumen
- Prior industry and or commercial experience
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or similar local equivalent is strongly preferred. Registered Dietician would be suitable
- High level influencing skills to gain outcomes which benefit patients, the NHS and Insulet
- Professional and effective presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication (oral and written) skills
- Resilient and flexible, requiring minimal direction.
- High business acumen with the ability to take commercial decisions for the benefit of the organization
- Strong teamworking capability to ensure valued contribution to the wider commercial account team
- Gravitas and credibility within the diabetes community. Has an existing diabetes clinical network
- Proficient in working with computers and the various digital platform systems
Physical Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license required. Must reside within the geographic area of the assigned area. This position requires regular business travel mostly by car within a set geographic region.
- Overnight travel and amount of air travel varies by territory, typically 2 – 5 overnights
per month. - The work environment will be within the HCPs offices, clinics, own home office and car.
- Some lifting may be required when sending or receiving shipments, in handling samples, supplies or literature, and transport of laptop computer.
