Key Responsibilities
- Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
- Develop and implement data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
- Use predictive modelling to solve variety of Business Problems.
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
- Ability to cleanse, analyze large volume of data
- Guide less experienced physicists/scientists.
- Evaluate new technologies, pursue innovative solutions and evaluate competitors.
- Conduct tests of new technologies under evaluation. Participate in feasibility studies of new technologies.
Advanced
- Assume ownership for existing signal processing algorithms, develop and test new signal processing algorithms
- Develop basic instrument control software for prototype hardware
- Optical modeling and analysis of spectral data
Functional Knowledge
- Strong fundamental knowledge of optics, optical metrology and optical systems
- Basic knowledge of control systems preferred
- Working knowledge of MATLAB, LabView, Python preferred

- Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work

- No supervisory responsibilities but provides informal guidance to new team members
