Are you an experienced scheduler and want to join the Commodity Scheduling team in Houston? If so, this role is for you!

Minimum Requirements:

  • Five years’ of experience in a scheduling role within appropriate commodity industries (crude, fuel oil, refined products preferred)

  • Post-secondary degree in business, accounting, economics or equivalent preferred

  • Experience with trade capture, scheduling, finance, and risk management systems

  • Specialized knowledge and skills in a variety of scheduling processes and activities           

  • Strong understanding of commodity trade positioning

  • Superior analytical, quantitative skills and accounting acumen

  • In-depth understanding of waterborne and pipeline operational requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for negotiating short term leases and arranging all transportation requirements for the execution of trading activity

  • Develop comprehensive delivery schedule and communicate to key stakeholders on a daily basis

  • Assist in reviewing and improving processes for the department to optimize the company portfolio

  • Coordinate generation and load costing, scheduling, and dispatch functions following all ISO procedures

  • Works autonomously within established procedures while adding value with continuous improvement

  • Utilizing experience level to promote cross training and develop colleagues through knowledge sharing

  • Apply critical thinking for new and innovative solutions to complex operational problem solving

  • Ability to handle unexpected operational issues and provide guidance during off-peak hours

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Houston office, located at 2 Allen Centre, 1200 Smith St.

  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
