Manulife Investment Management Timberland and Agriculture Inc. The Client Accounting Group supports this work by delivering accurate, timely financial reporting and maintaining the accounting records, general ledgers, systems, and internal controls that underpin our client portfolios.

We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant, Client Accounting Group to deliver client financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, oversee accounting and cash management activities, and support FASB, tax, REIT, and GIPS compliance. This role will collaborate across the organization, respond to client needs, and contribute to projects and process improvements that strengthen financial governance. This is a hybrid position based in Boston, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly financial statements and customized ad hoc reports for clients.

  • Calculate client advisory fees and investment performance returns in accordance with applicable agreements and reporting standards.

  • Analyze operating cash requirements, recommend cash distributions, and prepare capital contribution requests and distribution notices for investors.

  • Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and analyze general ledger activity to ensure accurate and complete financial records.

  • Prepare supporting schedules for quarterly and year-end audits and tax filings, and research accounting and tax matters as required.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to client and investor inquiries, providing clear and accurate financial information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, with three to five years of relevant accounting experience.

  • Demonstrated investment accounting experience; knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS reporting, and tax accounting is preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Essbase, Great Plains, or Prophix is considered an asset.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, supported by strong organizational and time-management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced, growing organization.

Salary range is expected to be between

$73,350.00 USD - $122,250.00 USD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
