Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital opened on Jan. 24, 1955 as a 238-bed community hospital. Today, the hospital is a 1,101-bed major academic and referral center with Level I adult trauma and Level II pediatric trauma designations. Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital has 43 residency and fellowship programs with 454 residents and fellows. Corewell is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, with more than 1,400 doctors on faculty.

Scope of work  

Fills medication orders including oral, injectable and topical medications and intravenous admixtures.
Assists in the bulk manufacturing of special pharmaceutical products.  Prepares and distributes floor stock items in response to requisition forms.  Inventories and restocks shelves in immediate work area, checks for outdated drugs.  Enters charges and credits into the computer for all medications and IV admixtures dispensed from the Pharmacy, documents all medications and IV solutions returned to the Pharmacy.  Distributes prepared medications to patient care areas and/or other departments of the Hospital.  Performs necessary record keeping functions.  Answers telephone and assists at Pharmacy window.  May rotate within hospital and out-patient pharmacy service areas as required.  Maintains the work area in a safe, orderly manner.  Follows appropriate clean room (797) guidelines in the preparation of intravenous admixtures

.Qualifications 

  • High school diploma program or GED.
  • Experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience and/or graduate of an ASHP accredited technician training program. Preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician License - State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
  • Pharmacist Intern License - State of Michigan Upon Hire required
