We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

About your team:

You’ll be working centrally within our mission control room, aka Centrica’s group functions. From Finance and Data Science, to our Wellbeing and People teams - this is the engine of our energy system, where our various Centres of Excellence power up each of our brilliant businesses, ensuring they have all the support, technologies, and capabilities they need to get our customers to Net Zero by 2050.

We have a fantastic new opportunity for a HSE Data & Reporting Specialist to join our Group HSE team. In this role you will take ownership for the analysis of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) data to identify key performance trends and insights, write reports, and develop / maintain digital dashboards. You will conduct checks to maintain high data quality and reporting accuracy against relevant internal standards.

Location: With our Flexible First working arrangements we empower our colleagues to work in a way that best suits them – meaning location doesn’t need to be a barrier. This role can be mostly based at home with flexibility required to attend occasional meetings as required at our Centrica sites.

What will you do?

  • Partner with colleagues across our businesses to develop and maintain system dashboards, using common leading & lagging metrics wherever possible.
  • Analyse HSE data across agreed key performance indicators to identify trends and related risks & performance themes (using system dashboards, Power BI, AI and other tools as appropriate).
  • Distil information into actionable insights and draft regular written reports on group-level HSES performance by agreed deadlines.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support deep dives into BU-specific and group wide themes.
  • Verify data accuracy, completeness, and quality in line with the basis of reporting.
  • Support and maintain the HSE data model, escalating to the team as required

Who are we looking for?

  • Experience of consistently applying high levels of numeracy to produce accurate results.
  • Excellent analytical skills that can be applied to breadth and depth of data to distil key insights for reporting.
  • Experience of developing and continuously improving digital dashboards, using measures and indicators, in both Power BI and software-as-as-service systems (SaaS).
  • Strong written and desktop publishing skills to clearly articulate insights in Word and PowerPoint reports, following analysis.
  • Ability to build and maintain open, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A reliable self-starter with the drive required to influence others to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Curiosity to continuously improve skillset, especially in Power BI to remain current.

Health, Safety and Environment experience, preferably working in the energy supply / oil & gas / utility sectors is preferred, but not essential. If you do not have HSE experience, you must be willing to undertake the NEBOSH certification course within the first year of employment.
