Job Description:

We are looking for a: Bid Management Team Lead who is available for an indicative period of two years in the UK, before returning to one of Leonardo Italia's sites.

Responsibilities:

To lead a team to provide project management to bidding activities.  PM lead this activity to the point where an RFQ is issued at which point commercial contract acquisition take the lead.  However, commercial continue to require project management support to develop and manage the bid plan to ensure that all of the activities are completed on time to get a quality bid submitted on time. 

Main Activities:

  • To own and manage the work to identify, shape and agree the likely scope of any new tasks to the programme working across GIGO, Edgewing, LSIs and LSSIs;
  • Lead a team of project managers to plan and manage activities to ensure the submission of quality and timely bids into the GIGO for additional work and future tasks that are of a high quality and timely;
  • To identify the work required across all of the functions to prepare the estimate, to plan these tasks and to integrate this into the programme schedule To manage the team to deliver these tasks;
  • To identify and manage risk and opportunities to the submission of the proposal and to getting this onto contract and ensure these are integrated into the overall programme risk and opportunity process;
  • To work closely with the contract acquisition team in Commercial and to provide a smooth transition once an RFQ is issued and to continue to provide the programme management support to the bid activities;
  • Work with stakeholders in GIGO, Edgewing, LSIs and Domains to ensure the successful realisation of the opportunities.

Objectives

  • Identify, shape and secure additional tasks under the GCAP programme;
  • Deliver timely, high quality proposals into GIGO to secure additional work for Edgewing and the wider industrial base;
  • Ensure that all bidding activities are planned and managed so that bids are delivered efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent professional experience.

Desiderable

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in relevant subject;
  • Professional certifications; example: PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM (Association for Project Management).

  • Proven ability to deliver successful large, complex bids
  • Proven ability to influence a broad range of senior stakeholdersLeading technology and or development programmes
  • Programme experience in concept, design, development and manufacturing phases of programmes
  • Proven ability to lead multi functional teams to do new or different things
