What will you do? 

As a Senior Data Scientist in Cat Digital you will develop condition monitoring models to power asset management solutions for customers and dealers.You will use machine learning and statistics-based/physics-based analytics techniques on time-series sensor data, machine fault codes, inspections and analysis records, and other datasets to identify health anomalies, predict equipment failure modes, estimate remaining useful life, and build equipment risk models.You will be as well: 

  • Leading, exploring, developing, promoting, and implementing various projects focused Machine Learning, AI, and Generative AI. 
  • Conducting research on data model optimization and algorithms to improve effectiveness and accuracy on data analyses. 
  • Interacting and collaborating with the Analytics management team, with the team members and colleagues outside the organization, including outside Cat Digital. 

This position works directly with Slovakia based engineering leadership and Cat Digital in the US.  

  

What you have:  

  • Expert knowledge in Python with specific experience applying it to LLM and generative AI applications (OpenAI, LangChain, LangGraph, Pandas). 
  • Demonstrated experience with prompt engineering, RAG systems, and agentic frameworks. 
  • Strong understanding of vector databases, embedding techniques, and semantic search implementations. 
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to determine the root cause of complex AI system challenges and create innovative solutions. 
  • Machine Learning: Strong foundation in traditional ML techniques (Clustering, Regression, Neural Networks) with emphasis on their application alongside generative AI. 
  • Excellent communication skills to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Extensive experience in practical applications of Machine Learning techniques such as Clustering, Logistic Regression, Random Forests, SVM or Neural Networks.  
  • Extensive experience in conducting data mining and cleaning initiatives. 
  • Working knowledge in writing, debugging, and implementing complex queries involving multiple tables or databases. 

Top Candidates Will Also Have: 

  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree in relevant field. 
  • In-depth technical and problem-solving skills and evidence of continuous learning in the analytics field 
  • Working knowledge with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc) 
  • Working knowledge with version control / repositories such as GitHub 
  • Experience operating in an Agile environment.
