Serve as a custodian of the CHANEL brand image nationwide by effectively communicating CHANEL’s visual identity through exemplary Visual Merchandising at all Stand-Alone Boutiques and Counters.

Operational Context: Business Environment and Challenges

  • Diverse distribution channels – including boutiques (SABs) department stores (DS), and travel retail (TR) – each presenting unique Visual Merchandising (VM) requirements
  • Navigate an active Fragrance & Beauty (FBP) marketing calendar, requiring strong planning skills, proficiency in preparing planograms and layout plans for in-store VM changes, and promotional setups
  • Coordination with multiple contractors, demanding versatile management and communication capabilities
  • Maintain a strategic balance between upholding brand image, managing costs, and achieving event ROI
  • Adapt to rapidly evolving VM requirements, particularly with the introduction of new SABs and events locations

Key Responsibilities:

Visual Merchandising at POS

  • Proactively plan all workflows to ensure timely and successful VM execution
  • Forecast and coordinate the ordering of global VM materials to ensure alignment with merchandising plans
  • Source, order, and manage locally and regionally produced SPMs, maintaining quality control and consistency with brand standards
  • Manage visual orders and transparency changes for all POS in accordance with the marketing calendar
  • Oversee the expiration and removal of visual assets and tools at POS, office, warehouse, server archives and vendor-shared spaces
  • Maintain campaign films at POS, ensuring synchronization with campaign launches and window animations
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Retail, Product, and Regional VM team, proactively addressing issues and requests
  • Contribute to the coaching and development of Retail teams, fostering a strong CHANEL VM culture
  • Continuously improve and uphold POS image, enhancing the brand experience at every consumer touchpoint through regular POS visits and improvements
  • Support new POS openings and in-store activations with robust VM presentation tailored at POS architecture and business needs
  • Provide high-level VM expertise for ad-hoc tasks as required
  • Manage multiple contractors to ensure timely, high-quality execution
  • Maintain and repurpose VM props, supporting the brand’s sustainability objectives

Budget, Reports & Others

  • Plan and manage budgets for window displays and transparencies
  • Handle administrative tasks such as generating purchase requisitions, securing work permits, and completing all necessary VM documentation
  • Document all VM executions at POS, podiums, events, and workshops with comprehensive photographic and written reports

Role Specifications

Academic / Professional Qualifications

  • Minimum Advanced Diploma in Interior, Graphic, Industrial Design or related field
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch Up, AutoCAD or equivalent 2D/3D design software, as well as Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Work Experience

  • At least 2-3 years experience in retail visual merchandising
  • Experience in cosmetic industry, departmental stores, retail, exhibition house or design agencies is advantageous
  • Proven ability to manage multiple contractors and suppliers
  • Hands-on experience in visual merchandising and coordination

Required Competencies

  • Strong and excellent communication skills, with the capacity to engage with a diverse audience, and influence with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Expertise in reading and preparing technical and construction drawings for window displays and promotional setups
  • Ability to interpret and translate VM presentations into actionable plans and merchandising guidelines for POS environments
  • High attention to detail, with a creative and innovative mindset
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, meet tight deadlines, and demonstrate resilience and meticulousness
