Must have skills : Amazon Web Services (AWS), DevOps, Kubernetes, Platform Engineering, Terraform, EC2
Good to have skills : NA

Roles & responsibilities:
Looking for an AWS DevOps / Platform Engineer to lead the platform-side execution of an EC2 EKS Proof of Concept (POC). The role will focus on building and operating EKS-ready environments using Terraform/IaC, enabling CI/CD pipeline enhancements, and establishing deployment/rollback mechanics and operational runbooks aligned to Empower guardrails. The engineer will partner with application teams (Java/Spring) to ensure runtime readiness and smooth containerized deployments.
Platform Engineering
Drive the EC2 EKS migration POC from a platform engineering perspective.
Design and implement EKS environment readiness: networking, IAM, cluster prerequisites, namespaces, RBAC, secrets strategy, logging/monitoring hooks, and security baseline.
Enable standardized deployment and rollback patterns for EKS workloads (blue/green, canary, rolling) depending on pipeline/tooling.
Own and publish runbooks (deployment, rollback, incident triage, access, scaling, troubleshooting) aligned to Empower standards/guardrails.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Terraform
Build and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform (modules, state management, workspace strategy, versioning).
Implement repeatable, compliant infrastructure provisioning for POC and future scale-out environments.
Ensure least privilege IAM, environment separation, tagging strategy, and guardrail alignment.
CI/CD Enablement & Release Engineering
Enhance existing CI/CD pipelines to support Kubernetes/EKS deployments (build, scan, package, deploy).
Introduce or improve pipeline controls: approvals, policy checks, artifact promotion, rollback automation.
Maintain deployment documentation and operational handoffs.
Required Qualifications
5+ years in DevOps / Platform Engineering roles (or equivalent practical experience).
Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including compute, networking, IAM, and observability.
Strong hands-on experience with Terraform (writing modules, managing remote state, best practices).
Solid experience with Kubernetes and Amazon EKS, specifically:
Cluster fundamentals, namespace/RBAC, ingress/services
Deployment strategies and rollbacks
Troubleshooting, runbooks, operational patterns
Proven experience modifying and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments.
Working knowledge of Java/Spring runtime concepts (not necessarily building the app, but supporting runtime and deployment needs).
Strong documentation mindset — ability to produce clear runbooks and operational artifacts.
15 years full time education
