Job Description

Position Summary:

The IT Systems Development Engineer Intern within TEL’s team is responsible for providing effective solutions by implementing the configuration management & build best practices by leveraging the SCM (Source Code Management/Software Configuration Management) tool's features for efficient configuration management & build activities.

This internship is payrolled via payroll process provider. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work on new designs/solutions, bringing them from concept to in life operations
  • Relentlessly improve the quality of our operations, monitoring and tools
  • Product prototype testing including design verification and validation of hardware and software, determine if program will perform according to requirements and specifications
  • Development of key elements of in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) systems, in particular the development of table-top and handheld analyzers to perform IVD testing by using disposable microfluidic cartridges
  • Work with Technicians and other support staff to conduct product testing
  • Understand overall system requirements in order to develop and document supporting subsystem requirements and turn them into a software design
  • Work with multiple teams across the globe to integrate software changes and ensure they are validated appropriately
  • Lead or coordinate subsystem reviews
  • Ability to understand overall system requirements and translate them into subsystem requirements to drive subsystem design/development
  • Develop and code new or updated software algorithms for the perception system


Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
