Join Hitachi Energy as an Environmental Management Specialist and help shape how environmental excellence is embedded into our operations. In this role, you will lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of our Environmental Management Systems (EMS), playing a critical role in supporting responsible growth and operational resilience.
You will collaborate with teams across the organization to assess environmental risks, strengthen compliance, and integrate sustainability principles into daily business activities. Your work will directly influence how we manage resources, reduce environmental impact, and meet regulatory expectations—all while supporting our mission to advance a more sustainable and decarbonized energy future.
By staying ahead of emerging regulations, technologies, and best practices, you’ll help ensure our products, processes, and facilities meet high environmental standards today and in the future. This role offers the opportunity to apply technical expertise, influence culture, and contribute to meaningful change on a global scale.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
How you’ll make an impact
Develop, implement, and maintain ISO 14001‑aligned EMS programs
Conduct environmental impact and risk assessments for projects and operations
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
Track, analyze, and report environmental KPIs and performance metrics
Prepare and submit required environmental reports and documentation
Lead and support internal, external, and regulatory audits
Deliver environmental and sustainability training across the organization
Collaborate cross‑functionally to embed sustainability into operations
Your background
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field
Three to five years of experience in environmental management or EHS roles
Strong working knowledge of ISO 14001 and environmental regulations
Experience with permitting, reporting, and regulatory compliance
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Environmental or EHS certifications are an asset
