Our daily actions are oriented towards customer support from the sale of the equipment, the installation and start-up, the implementation of the process and the maintenance service to ensure maximum productivity of the installed equipment.

In order to support our long-term development, we are looking for talents to join our teams in Grenoble. Within our Installation department, we are looking for our Installation Engineer to support European regions.

The Iteam (Installation team) stands for the Installation of semiconductors tools across the European Region (mainly in France, Italy and Ireland). We roll in, assemble, connect, and test the new systems until we hand over to our service team and our customers for the manufacturing of wafers to kick off.

Being part of the Install Task Force is more than a job, it is a way of life. As a team we travel approx. 90 % of our working time, and also get opportunities to support installations worldwide.

This position demands technical expertise, customer focus, team involvement and flexibility to travel.

Full training on our equipment will be provided through mentoring.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Perform independently tool installation tasks (mechanical assembly, electrical connections, robot calibrations) from the integration to the inspection of the tools including troubleshooting in case of issues.

  • Follows all checklists and procedures and ensures correct procedures and schematics are available prior to performing work.

  • Test equipment with assistance from senior engineers, existing documentation and diagnostic techniques.

  • Responds to fab issues by communicating with other engineers and participating in escalation conference calls.  

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to reduce installation cycle time and costs.

  • Provide accurate reporting of status, hours worked and non-conformances. 

  • Adhere to the security policy and quality standards of Applied Materials and its customers.

Skills and Experience required: 

  • Associate’s, bachelor’s, or master' degree with technical background like mechanical assembly, equipment installation, maintenance, mechatronics, electronics, electrical, mechanical, or similar...

  • Position open to New College Graduate (NCG).

  • Some experience or knowledge with Applied Materials CVD/CMP/EPI tools would be an advantage but not required. 

  • Troubleshooting skills to solve mechanical and electrical issues during system installation.

  • Ability to communicate daily pass-downs and equipment status reports.

  • Project management skills to control installation project within budget, timeline and installation quality requirements.

  • Ability to work autonomously.

  • Good English communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Good Knowledge of the MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint)

  • The position requires extensive travelling throughout Europe (75% of the time, depending on overall activity requirements)
