About the Role:

Support all areas of the gas turbine business by developing and implementing production plans, repairs, and solutions for a wide variety of parts required across the gas turbine packages.

What You Will Do:

  • Maintain, update, and create manufacturing production planning for a large variety of gas turbine engine and package parts.

  • Provide manufacturing services to other Solar Turbines CAMs and Suppliers who are at capacity.

  • Support Repair Development Engineers to create new repair plans for overhaul engine parts.

  • Create instruction sheets and Baan production orders to repair and create gas turbine parts.

  • Source materials for part creation and repairs.

  • Work with supply chain engineers to create 3rd party manufacturing plans.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to create adequate manufacturing plans.

  • Apply ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and tolerancing to manufacturing plans.

  • Use trigonometry and machining fundamentals to calculate appropriate parallelism, and runout conditions needed machine sand-castings and forgings to engineering specification.

  • Use a combination of engineering and machining fundamentals to propose acceptance or repair of discrepant parts to MRB design engineers.

  • Read and interpret CMM reports.

  • Support multiple shifts of shop floor mechanics and machinists with technical solutions to improve ergonomics, reduce cycle time, and reduce tooling.

  • Support on-time-delivery of turbine parts by maintaining frequent verbal communication between supervisors, team leads, and schedulers.

  • Cover for other manufacturing engineers when team members are absent.

  • Lead containment, root-cause, and corrective action for all high frequency defects, escapes, and scrap parts in a timely manner.

  • Interface closely with machinists to create appropriate work holding, time standards, and routings.

  • Use Creo Parametric CAD software to interrogate part dimensions and create internal and external manufacturing planning drawings.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or similar field.

  • Knowledge of machining manufacturing operations.

  • Proficiencies in Baan, Windchill, SFIS.

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to be a team player.

  • Possess emotional intelligence to understand team dynamics

  • Proficient knowledge in non-standard fixturing methods

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Creo Parametric

  • Proficiency in ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and tolerancing

  • B.S. or higher in mechanical or manufacturing engineering

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
