Senior Tax Analyst US Federal and State

We are currently recruiting qualified candidates for the position of Senior Tax Analyst - US Federal and State. This position is a dynamic position that supports the U.S. Domestic Tax group. The successful candidate will possess technical tax knowledge to maintain and derive value through accurate reporting, compliance, and planning.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in preparation of U.S. domestic and federal state workpapers and returns and quarterly estimated tax payments

  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740, including reconciliation of tax accounts and cash tax payments

  • Assist in implementing and maintaining tax provision software

  • Prepare tax basis balance sheets

  • Monitor and maintain tax compliance tracking system

  • Assist with federal and state tax audits

  • Assist in research analyses and documentation of various planning projects

  • Provide support for modelling and quantitative analysis projects

  • Provide internal control documentation required by Sarbanes-Oxley

  • Maintains knowledge of tax requirements by studying new tax laws and studying proposed tax legislation.

  • Connect with various business teams to understand tax technical issues and operations as well as build relationships

  • Attend relevant tax technical training programs to stay current on ever-changing tax legislation.

  • Drive process improvements and facilitate streamlining and automation of recurring calculations

  • Other duties and special projects as requested by management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department

  • Experience with U.S. federal and state income tax compliance and reporting

  • ASC 740 accounting for income taxes knowledge and experience

  • Proficient in M.S. Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Proficient in Corptax compliance and provision software

Experience and Skills:

  • CPA or CPA Candidate

  • Strong project management skills

  • Experience with CorpTax tax preparation software

  • Experience with SAP (including the fixed asset module) would be helpful

  • Experience with Hyperion would be helpful

  • Self-starter able to take ownership of projects and highly motivated

  • Ability to think critically and problem solve

  • Enjoys interacting with people to achieve outstanding results

  • Emphasis on detail and accuracy

  • Ability to collaboratively work with others

  • Ability to confidently prioritize and meet project and tax return filing deadlines

  • Strong organizational skills
