This multifaceted role provides support to the department heads with projects, analysis, metrics and reporting for the London Technology Hub operations teams which include Production Operations, Broadcast Graphics, Playout, MCR, MAM, Ingest and Media Services and the Paris Broadcast Centre.
Working alongside the department heads you will be responsible for creating and providing performance and reliability reporting, tracking, managing and reporting progress and detail on major projects and broadcast initiatives including new service launches and major sporting events.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce, manage and maintain detailed reporting uniform across all teams outlining volumes, throughput, reliability and performance.
- Improve reliability metrics data input across the London and Paris facilities.
- Acting on the data recorded to identify trends in operational performance:
- Equipment trends, in particular the types of equipment, vendors, etc.
- Operational trends, in particular identifying process weakness, staff training.
- Own and manage the Operations service level reporting processes.
- Chair meetings to investigate on-air incidents and contribute towards how to mitigate repetition of these issues.
- Actively own and manage the London Technology Hub Technical Facilities Documentation Archive working with the LTH teams to ensure all documentation is kept up to date.
- Contribute to planning and preparation for major sports events on TNT, including Premier League, UEFA competitions and PPV events.
- Produce documentation for all TNT PPV events, including internal resources and external playout provider contacts.
- Project leader for the integration of new issues tracking database with the aim to get a standard global approach to reporting and incident management.
- Key contributor in ensuring system and process alignment across playout locations
- On behalf of London Operations lead projects and initiatives with focus on successful delivery of projects on time and in budget.
- Create and execute Project Plans and reporting using effective tools to avoid deviation from agreed timelines.
- Regular review of business resilience and disaster recovery procedures to ensure the LTH is appropriately prepared.
- Key contact and partner to the Business Continuity Team for all Sports facilities in London.
- Develop, validate and manage all relevant project support processes and documentation throughout the life of projects (e.g. business cases, technical writing, event plans, status reports, etc.).
- Build and own strong stakeholder relationships across the organisation.
- Liaise with the internal clients to ensure all reporting is accurate and actions taken where needed.
- Provide and present status reporting to senior levels within the company.
- Assessing of volumes processed in Ingest teams to aid staff planning and study trends
- Assist in the department's execution and implementation of new business plans, launches and initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience of working in a busy, multi-channel transmission environment.
- Knowledge and experience of planning and actioning successful operation of complex live events from an operations standpoint.
- A track record of finding solutions to complex media workflows, across a range of delivery technologies and platforms.
- Experience of producing Standard Operating Procedures for multiple departments
- Ability to successfully negotiate deadlines and priorities with technical and business stakeholders
- Good understanding of WBD Sports workflows as related to Playout, Ingest, MCR and Commentary
- Strong consultancy skills and a track record working at all levels of an organisation
- Demonstrable ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Demonstrate an organised and procedural approach to their workload and tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven knowledge of data visualisation software such as Power BI, Tableau etc.
- Ability to influence procedural changes and initiatives
- Adept at working collaboratively with other service delivery internal departments
- Capability to present information to internal teams and the SMT
- Proactive in troubleshooting, problem solving and avoidance of issues
- Adaptable and flexible in a challenging, demanding and fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to represent the department at a high level in meetings
- Ability to assimilate information from multiple sources, demonstrating strong analytical skills and with the capability to see the implications across the business and make informed decisions
- Ability to prioritize and work autonomously under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Strong team player and solid interpersonal skills
- Experience of budget and expense management
Onsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement, where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
