Role Summary:
The Supplier Analyst Supervisor encompasses the same responsibilities as a Supplier Analyst, with additional responsibility for leading the regional team. Responsibilities include supplier strategic oversight, performance health, and operational excellence of a diverse portfolio of 200 suppliers. This role mirrors the responsibilities of a Supplier Manager but emphasizes scalable data analysis and risk-based prioritization to manage a high-volume vendor base efficiently. The Supplier Analyst acts as a critical link between Category Management and Business Units in conjunction with Supplier Technicians, ensuring that all 200 suppliers align with global strategies and compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate assignments for the team based on inputs from the Regional Supplier Management Director, Category or BU stakeholders
- Ensure open two-way communication between the Supplier Analysts and associated stakeholders
- Manage day-to-day oversight of the supplier portfolio across assigned category
- Analyze spending and performance data across the supplier portfolio to support Supplier Managers and Category Management in developing high-level Supplier Plans and segmentation as necessary
- Review trends and make recommendations to the business for opportunities to consolidate spend
- Coordinate targeted development activities, collaborating with Supplier Technicians where required
- Ensure a baseline of compliance on contractual agreements and supplier specific terms in alignment with Flowserve policies and procedures
- Schedule and lead supplier engagements and business reviews based on KPI compliance
- Monitor supplier capacity, lead times, and service levels to ensure business continuity
- Escalate performance or risk concerns to Supplier Technicians as appropriate
- Manage supplier relationships with oversight into overall performance, and targeted improvement activities for the designated portfolio of suppliers
- Monitor and action supplier performance around competitiveness, delivery, quality, and cost
- Collaborate with Supplier Technicians to manage supplier risk, addressing and mitigating high risk criteria – including maintenance of risk elements in the SC Risk App for highest-risk suppliers within the portfolio
- Coordinate with suppliers any escalations and risks raised through the appropriate escalation channels
- Maintain open communication channels and accurate master data for the portfolio of suppliers through engagements and stakeholder identification
- Analyze aggregate supplier load versus business needs, identifying potential bottlenecks across the portfolio suppliers and proposing alternative sourcing options.
- Coordinate with site or business unit leadership on solving routine issues, and escalating risk through the appropriate escalation channels
- Support issue resolution by gathering data, facilitating communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders, and coordinating with Supplier Technicians and Category Management
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain
- Experience in leading a team or with demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal, stakeholder collaboration & relationship management
- Evidenced understanding of both commercial and technical areas of supply chain
- Very strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Project Management
- Knowledge of supply base within the category area of operation
- Understanding of market dynamics
- Strong analytical skills which involve collecting, analysing and interpreting data
- Certified Supply Chain Professional
- Geographically mobile for engagement opportunities
- Ability to influence, communicate, and collaborate at all organizational levels
