This role will serve as the primary conduit between the appropriate medical entity/department and the healthcare vendor. The Vendor Operations Coordinator will work with the vendor to ensure that completed applications are submitted in a timely manner for review. This role ensures that the vendor has submitted sufficient information, ensures that the applications are submitted appropriately, and monitors progress through the application process until they are approved or disapproved. The Vendor Operations Coordinator will also compile ongoing statistics and data related to the overall process and will be responsible for proposing methods to make it more efficient and effective.
Job Responsibilities:
Serve as point of contact for the healthcare vendor and other outside agencies.
Assist in conflict resolution between outside agencies and the healthcare vendor.
In conjunction with the healthcare vendor, develop statewide policies/procedures, and guidelines for completion of applications and information flow.
Prepares reports/statics as such as number of cases, application approvals/denials, hospital days covered to assist in budgeting and other informational purposes.
Work with relevant departments/groups and healthcare vendor to obtain all necessary information required to decide whether application meets criteria.
Share approval/denial information with healthcare vendor financial department or their designee.
Utilize different software products to find financial and medical information needed for the case or process.
Utilize appropriate criteria to help determine which cases fail to meet criteria.
Exercise the utmost confidentiality as both financial and healthcare information regarding residents are included in completed application.
Utilize professional phone, telemeeting, and email etiquette in communicating with numerous stakeholders in the process.
Assist in administrative, grievance, and performance guarantee preparation to assist in meeting department goals.
Attends meetings for participation in departmental planning issues.
Attends annual conferences in order to advance knowledge and skill sets.

Required Qualifications
Education: Associate Degree in relevant field. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Experience used to substitute education is in addition to any required work experience.
Work Experience:
Minimum three (3) years of experience in data entry, statistics, release of information, patient identity, quality analysis, or cancer registry.
Prior experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) is desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare or related field
Skills
Must be accurate and detail oriented.
Possess excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
Must be highly organized, able to work independently and be team oriented.
Must have the initiative to continually improve technical skills.
Skillful in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, and Teams

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
