About the role:

Title: Growth Data Scientist

✅ Salary: $160,000 - $200,000 base

What does the role look like?

As a Growth Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in unlocking insights about acquisition, activation, and monetization. You will be developing frameworks to help us understand our consumer base, while also diving deep into specific nuances and leveraging these insights to identify growth opportunities across the organization. This role reports to the Head of Strategic Finance and will work closely with leadership across Finance and Growth Marketing.

The Growth Pod aims to enhance user journey conversions and drive growth across acquisition, activation, and monetization strategies. The team will achieve this by fostering cross-functional collaboration, leveraging diverse expertise to generate and test hypotheses that improve key metrics.

  • Insights: Collaborate closely with the Finance and Growth teams to provide deep insights into user acquisition, activation, and monetization, identifying key growth opportunities. Develop a nuanced understanding of our business’ key drivers and recommend new metrics to mobilize our efforts around. 
  • Experimentation: Design, implement, and analyze A/B tests and other experiments to validate hypotheses and inform strategic decisions. Ensure rigorous experiment tracking and reporting.
  • Dashboard Development: Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor key metrics, providing actionable insights
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Data, Growth Marketing, and Engineering teams to ensure data needs are met and insights are integrated into decision-making processes.

Your First 90 Days:

  • Within 30 days: Understand our product, data sources, and current analytics setup. Start by supporting the Growth Marketing team with experiment setup and initial measurement frameworks.
  • Within 60 days: Start expanding your scope and working with Strategic Finance to conduct thorough analyses to identify growth opportunities. Help set up critical consumer insight processes that will lead to actionable insights for the Finance/Growth Marketing teams; further contribute to experiment ideation. 
  • Within 90 days: You now have a deep understanding of what moves our consumer base, while translating that to specific experiments.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience 
  • Proactively identify and analyze growth metrics and KPIs related to acquisition, activation, and monetization to unlock actionable insights and drive strategic growth initiatives
  • Experience working in a consumer marketplace
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to synthesize to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven experience in growth analytics, A/B testing, and story-telling through data
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Metabase), and statistical analysis
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Highly resourceful and able to thrive in a competitive, fast-changing landscape

Nice to have:

  • Experience working closely with growth teams (product marketing, growth marketing)
  • Previous experience in a high-growth tech company or startup environment
  • Familiarity with the creator economy and online entrepreneurship space
  • Experience with data pipeline, data transformations, and data cleaning
  • Experience with Data Science and Machine Learning
